PAN Card is a valid identity proof that is necessary for all financial transactions. Moreover, it is mandatory if you desire to file your income tax return. You can apply for PAN card either online or offline. This article will see in detail the step by step procedure to apply for PAN Card online through NSDL and UTIITSL.

How to apply for PAN Card?
You can apply for PAN card online either through NSDL or UTITSL.
1. NSDL PAN Application
Below is the procedure to apply for PAN Card
1.Go to the link https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan/index.html
2.You will reach the below screen.Click on Apply Online.
In application type, select option applicable to you
-New PAN-Indian Citizen (Form 49A)
-New PAN-Foreign Citizen (Form 49AA)
-Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data/ Reprint of PAN Card (No changes in existing PAN Data)
3. After selecting application type, now select the category from the below options
-Individual
-Association of persons
-Body of Individuals
-Company
-Trust
Limited Liability Partnership
-Firm
-Government
-Hindu Undivided Family
-Artificial Juridicial Person
-Local Authority
4.Under the title Applicant information
Select the title applicable to you from the list.
5.Now, fill the remaining details in the application form and click on submit.
2. UTIITSL PAN Application
1.Go to the PAN card official website https://www.pan.utiitsl.com/PAN/index.jsp.
You will reach the below screen.
2. If you are applying for a new PAN, Click on PAN Card as an Indian Citizen/ NRI. You will reach the below screen.
3. Click on Apply for a new PAN Card (Form 49A).
You will reach the below screen. Select Physical mode or Digital Mode. If you select Physical Mode, then you must submit the printed application forms at the nearest UTITSL offices. However, if you select Digital Mode, you need not submit any physical forms. Processing of your application is done in ekyc mode. And you can sign the application forms using Aadhaar based esignature or Digital Signature. Also, note that New PAN applications for categories other than individual Digital signatures are mandatory.
You can apply for Both a physical PAN card and an e-PAN or e-PAN only
Note: Physical PAN Card will be dispatched to the applicant’s communication address as per the application form. e-PAN Card will be sent to the applicant’s e-mail ID as per the application form.
PAN Application Tracking Online
Track NSDL PAN Card status
You can track your PAN Card status by using the NSDL link to check your PAN/ TAN Application Status. Also, you can track application status by SMS.
Use a 15-digit acknowledgement number for tracking the status of the application, as under
(1)Track PAN Card status at the TIN website https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pantan/StatusTrack.html
You reach the below screen. First, select the application type as PAN-New/ Change Request. Then, enter the acknowledgement number and captcha as shown. Now, click submit.
UTIITSL PAN Card Status Check
Track your PAN Card Status by clicking on the Track PAN Card option in the link https://www.pan.utiitsl.com/PAN/mainform.html
You will reach the below screen.Enter the below details in the application form, captcha as shown and click on submit.
- Application Coupon Number/ PAN number (10 digits)
- Date of birth/ Incorporation/Agreement/Partnership or Trust Deed/Formation of Body of Individuals/Association of Persons in dd/mm/yyyy format.

PAN CARD Download
You can download your e-PAN by clicking on Download e-PAN Card. You will reach the below screen.
Provide the details such as PAN number, Date of birth (mm/yyyy), GSTIN number (if applicable), captcha and then click on submit.
How to Change Address in PAN Card?
Now you can apply for NSDL pan address change easily.The Government has provided paperless address change facility to all the taxpayers.
Below is the process of applying for pan card address change online.
(1)Go to the link https://www.tin-nsdl.com/
(2)Click on the option Paperless Address update in PAN as shown below.
(3)You will reach the below screen. Enter your PAN , Aadhaar number, Email Id and Mobile number in the below screen. And click on submit.
Important points for PAN Card Address Change
1. This facility is free of cost.
2. This facility can be used by those users who want to update their address in PAN database as per Aadhaar.
3. To avail Address Update facility, Aadhaar is mandatory and Mobile number / email ID should have been registered in Aadhaar. (To check registered mobile number/email ID in Aadhaar, please visit at https://uidai.gov.in/)
4. One time password (OTP) would be sent on your mobile number/email ID linked with your Aadhaar to generate Aadhaar Based e-KYC.
5. After generation of Aadhaar based e-KYC, the address as per Aadhaar will be updated in PAN Database.
6. After update of address in PAN Database, an intimation of the same will be sent via email to the mobile number and e-mail ID mentioned by the user while using this facility.
7. Mobile number & e-mail ID would be updated in PAN database of Income Tax Department.

Prescribed Fees for Physical PAN Card and e-PAN Card: INR 107
Prescribed Fees for e-PAN Card Only: INR 72
NSDL Reprint PAN Card
(1)Go to the link https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/ReprintEPan.html
(2)You reach the below screen. Enter details such as PAN number, Aadhaar number, Date of birth and click on submit.
UTIITSL Reprint PAN Card
You can reprint PAN card by clicking on the Reprint PAN Card option. Note that this option is only for those whose PAN card is already dispatched. After that, you will reach the below screen.
Click on Reprint PAN card. You will reach the below screen. Enter details such as PAN no, Aadhaar no, Date of birth, GSTIN number (if applicable), captcha as shown and click on submit.
Note:
(1)Now, PAN applicants can get their PAN Card just reprinted (only when no change in data) by submitting their request through UTIITSL’s PAN Online website.
(2)To avail of this, the applicants need to apply and pay by making an online fee payment of Rs.50.00 (inclusive of taxes) for delivery to an Indian address OR
of Rs.959.00 (inclusive of taxes) for delivery to a foreign address, as per their communication address updated with latest records.
(3)The facility is available for the users only if they have submitted their latest picture and signature to UTIITSL with their application.
